7 7 14 Then to England via Dusseldorf the cheapest flight with a 5 hour waite

The forth time we were in Germany. We are nearly German now !

6 7 14 Drive back to Rome

Took the scenic route past these lakes below

Don't know for sure but they all looked like they had been formed by volcanic activity

4 7 14 Drove to Florence via San Gimignano and a Castle at Leccio

Maree and I went for a wander 

This is the Castle at Leccio we went to see

No one told us it was closed and you couldn't drive up to it

Any way we had a good drive in the Tuscany countryside

3 7 14 Drive into Pisa from the B & B

Park the car and yep there it is

We just had to do it

This is how much it has sunk at the base

Something I did not know it was built as a bell tower

so it is hollow like a cylinder

The Baptistry the place where infants were baptized in times gone by because they

 were not allowed into the cathedral so they built a separate building for the purpose

2 7 14 Drive to Pisa

Packed up the tent and had a swim in this bay next to the camp

Went for a walk in the evening at Marina di Pisa where we stayed in a B & B

Tested the local brew

The beach front was protected by these rock walls

People swam and fished in the pools they created

The Marina has had a recent upgrade

Rob Avery would love one of these fishing nets below

1 7 14 Along the coast to visit the coastal towns of Cinque Terre, Abby told Maree about

Before we got to the coast we went past the two villages below

Then we stopped in Vernazza

Had a good look around and an ice cream

and a swim

We saw these villages from the road as we drove further down the coast
