14/6/14 Drive down to Paris and visit to the Somme

The New Zealand memorial at the Somme

Once again it was not at the cemetery but at the site of one the battles of September 1916

that the New Zealanders were involved in

The Caterpillar Valley Cemetery where some of the New Zealanders are buried

The countryside is full of WW1 graves

The original grave of the unknown solder who is now in Wellington

Yes we did clean the new grave marker with a bottle of water from the car 

but forgot to take the camera back for another photo
